hello there...

and welcome to my blogger....

Calling myself an altered "artist" is perhaps a bit pretentious (only time will tell), but one thing I do know for sure is that I love painting and making beautiful things (beautiful perhaps only to me) again time will tell... I decided to create a blog as a way of showing what I could do, but everything (including this blogger and my art work) is in its infancy (so bear with me).

Beginnings...

I have been fascinated by altered art ever since I first started using a computor ( I hadnt heard of it until then). But I realised that much of the technics-I have already used (being an ex art college student) and the theory behind it (basicly recycling everyday objects into works of art) was something I could really love doing. Working full time and having a wonderful son has taken up a lot of time and up until fairly recently-being that now my son is 10, and now wants to spend less and less time with me- I have more time on my hands in which to do something I am passionate about.

The first few things that I have attempted are captured fairys for some beautiful little girls in my life, paperbag keepsake albums and some cards-some of which you will see here. I have also made altered notebooks for friends birthdays and am currently in the process of making Bird brooches for my female relatives for Christmas. I am yet to make an altered book, and am plucking up courage to deface an old book bought from a charity shop especially for that purpose.
